Appliance Market Grows In the First Half of the Year

The global appliance market has continued its growth in the first half of 2011. The growth rates of the appliance market from Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia have all been positive. The only appliance market which showed resistance to this trend is North America which is struggling with tough economic times.
These figures have related to the appliance market have been released by GFK Retail and Technology. The positive trend is being attributed to the rising demand in the emerging countries. Another factor could be the preference of a high quality and energy efficient appliance.
Europe and particularly Central and East Europe are all showing positive growth while sales in the appliance market of Russia are showing double digit growth. Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic have also shown recovery. Western Europe has continued to develop but Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain are still lagging. North America showed decline in sales numbers because of the economic uncertainty amidst the difficult housing market.
